We believe that the presence of billing targets for individuals is often the origin of contention between the client and the law firm. The desire to meet billing targets often puts the lawyer in a position of conflicts between self-serving interests and the client’s best interests. Therefore, our firm believes that removing billing targets allow us to better serve our clients

In providing regulatory advice, our firm believes in finding practical and workable solutions that is proportionate and reflective of the regulatory risks posed by a particular legal / regulatory issue. In so doing, our firm avoids providing advice that blindly “follows the herd” and avoids providing advice that simply serves the purpose of protecting the lawyer
Ben is the Founding Principal of WBY Lawyers.
Ben was qualified as a lawyer in New South Wales, Australia in 1998, in England and Wales in 2003 and in Hong Kong in 2011. Ben worked in the Sydney, London and Hong Kong offices of preeminent international law firms such as White & Case, Mayer Brown JSM and Norton Rose Fulbright, as well as working as an in-house counsel at Citi. During his 20+ years at these international firms and since establishing AltQuest, Ben has assisted a wide range of financial services clients in handling regulatory, compliance and licensing and fund formation matters.
